GUI: Windows Server 2012 R2

This edition of Windows Server is based on Windows 8.1. While 8.1 was a free upgrade for users of Windows 8, Server 2012 R2 was a separate and distinct edition that required purchase of a new license.

Installation:

First Run:

On first run, Windows Server requires you to create a strong admin password before proceeding to the desktop and server setup

Windows 8 and up omit the Windows Classic theme entirely. A modified version of the standard Windows 8 theme is used in Server instead. This theme has higher contrast, with black borders around the windows and buttons.
